Anna Maksimainen joins Nordic Healthcare Group as Senior Partner

Anna Maksimainen joined Nordic Healthcare Group (NHG) as senior partner in January. Anna is an experienced professional in health and social care, and, previously, she worked at NHG for eight years. In the last few years, Anna has been in charge of health and social care advisory services at Accenture, where she gained in-depth knowledge of the digital transformation facing the industry.

In the field of health and social care Anna has diverse experience in working with a multitude of clients and projects: she is experienced in social services as well as in primary and specialist healthcare – especially with focus on the interactions between stakeholders. For example, Anna has improved services for the elderly, services for children and families, employment services and client guidance as a municipality operation as well as through a so-called integrator model. Further, she developed operations and processes in primary and specialist healthcare and engaged in functional and conceptual planning of hospitals and health centres. Anna has high-level, practical expertise in digitalisation of services and the technological development in the field of health and social care. Value-based health and social care has become familiar to her in national and international projects, for example, where she has developed value-base procurement in Finland as well as in the Nordics and in EU projects.

At Accenture, Anna gained insight on the potential of digitalisation and the latest innovations changing the operating field. “I learned to think bigger. Finland is a small country with limited resources and we are at risk of running out of staff and money if we don’t have the courage to find new, even radical solutions. In the future, we have to focus more on how we can find sensible solutions together nationally. NHG is the strongest player in the field of health and social care in Finland. I want to be part of finding answers to the key questions of building a solid and effective health and social care system, as well as service production together with our clients. Digitalisation will play a key role in the future in the transformation of services, and this change is already happening,” she commented.

Anna has a Masters in Economic Sciences. Health and social care and digitalisation have been close to her heart ever since her studies. Before joining NHG, she wrote her master’s thesis on electronic services in health and well-being for the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT).

”It’s great to have Anna back. She is one of Finland’s most esteemed health and social care development professionals. Anna’s diverse expertise supports the holistic aims of our clients to improve their operational models. She also brings new insight and support to NHG’s digitalisation team. Welcome home Anna,” NHG’s CEO Vesa Kämäräinen commented.
